Katie Lynn Lewis
Katie Lynn Lewis age 19 of North Branch died on Oct. 5, 2003 at the North Branch Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale as a result of an automobile accident. Katie came into this world on March 1, 1984 in Forest Lake, MN to the parents of Doug and Renee Lewis. She came into this world a little smaller than most, weighing in at only 4 lbs 15 oz. She was the ìrunt of the litterî (or so we called her). As a little girl, she always needed a little extra help with ìThingsî and her older brother and sisters were always there to fill that need. Katie grew to be a young woman full of laughter and love, and full of compassion for anyone in need. She spent countless hours playing with her cousins as a little girl, and at her Grammaís. She lived spending time with her friends at school. Missing school was not an option for Katie -- it was a ìsocial event.î Katie graduated from North Branch High School with the class of 2002. Katie was a Real collector!! A collector of Magic Nursery Dolls, and Little Pet Shop Toys... The American Girl Dolls... She was so proud of her ìFelicityî. As she grew up into her teen years her passions changed from dolls and Pet Shop Toys to a very special little puppy named Violet, her first of several Chihuahuaís that brought her so much joy. Katie was a real romantic at heart, a Gone With The Wind, and Romeo and Juliet movie buff. She dreamed of beautiful dresses and spent many hours with friends shopping for just the perfect one. Her collections changed again, along with her romantic side, Katie had a love for ìCarsî, her room and her life was filled again with hope of owning one. Her father met that need for her when together they purchased the ì94î Chevy Camaro, that she was so proud of! Katie spent 4-1/2 years working at a server at the Oak Inn restaurant. She loved her job there and they loved her. Her goal was to someday be a manager there. Katie will be remembered there by co-workers and the customers she served, as someone who always had a smile. A tree is being planted there in Katieís memory by her ìSecond familyî at the Oak Inn. Katie is survived by father Doug Lewis, Mother Renee (White) Lewis and Rod LaValla; Sister Shannon Huberty and husband Ron. Brother Daniel; Sister Kelly Lewis and Nick Anderson and baby to be. Nieces Mariah and Savanna Huberty; Grandmaís Mary White of Pine City and Leoda Lewis of North Branch. Many cousins, other relatives and many friends. Katie was preceded in death by grandfathers Ed White and Doug Lewis Sr. Two aunts Pam and Jackie White. Funeral services were held on Friday Oct. 10, at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kevin Haseltine officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Branch, Minn. We, as Katieís family, are comforted in knowing that God can and will use even this terrible tragedy and loss for some great purpose. We believe that God had a plan for Katieís life, and that He knew from her beginning to her end, the people whose lives she touched. The rest is in His hands. She will be missed. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, Minn.
