Walter J. Determan

Walter Joseph Determan, age 90, of North Branch, MN died on Sept. 23, 2003 at the Green Acres Nursing Home.
Walter was born on Dec. 19, 1912 to William and Mary (Geltl) in Grenora, ND. He married Eliza Jane Brown on June 5, 1935 in St. Cloud, MN. Walter was a school teacher for 47 years. He began teaching in a one room school house in St. Francis, St. Martin and the Wolf Settlement. During WWII he worked in the defense plant in St. Cloud, MN. He returned to teaching in Lake Henry, St. Martin and Albert/Chokio. He retired in 1978 and moved to North Branch, MN.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Agnes and wife Eliza Jane. Survived by; sons David (Marlys), Roger (Mary), Ivan (Pat); daughters Bernadine (Louis) Poganski, Delores (Paul) Zick, Kathleen (Charles) Steinkopf, & Paulette (Herman) Gilbertson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Fri., Sept. 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. St. Gregoryís Catholic Church in North Branch, MN. Visitation 1 hour before services at the church. Interment McKenzie Cemetery in Kimball, MN.
