The North Branch girls tennis team faced Hill-Murray Oct. 6 in its last regular season match, falling 5-2.
Earning wins for the team were Kelsey OíHern at No. 3 singles and Danielle Sonnenfeld at No. 4 singles.
ìKelsey played a great three-set match and played very relaxed and consistent, with excellent first serves,î Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt said.
ìDanielle had another solid match against her opponent.î
Shannon OíHern at No. 1 singles and Maren Anderson at No. 2 singles rallied back in their matches but both fell short of a win.
Last week, the team earned a win against No. St. Paul on parentís night.
Picking up wins were Shannon OíHern, Anderson and Sonnenfeld at singles, Nicole Granberg and Katie Satterlund and Amber Heilig and Jessica Johnston at doubles.
ìWe played well with consistent play and great shot selection,î Unverzagt said. ìThird doubles came back in the first set with aggressive net play to win in two sets and first, second and fourth singles were done quickly in great victories.î
The Hill-Murray match ended the squadís regular season schedule with an 8-12 overall record. The team started team playoffs against Anoka on the road Monday.
