Local talent came close to winning

To the editor:
I thought I would let you know how I did at the State Fair.
In the State Fair Amateur Talent Contest on Saturday, Aug 23, I ended up getting second for my playing of ìI Will Always Love You.î Unfortunately only first makes it to the Grandstand finals so I barely missed it.
Then in the State Fair County Fair Talent Contest on Saturday, Aug. 30, I won playing ìWind Beneath My Wingsî and advanced to Sunday, the 31st, to the finals of the County Fair one. I played great but the judges didnít choose me as one of the top two to make it to the Grandstand finals.
So I missed making it to the finals barely in both contests but it all was a great experience in itself and I made $50 for second the first weekend and $100 for winning the second Saturday. I had great performances and passed on my joy of music to a lot of people. (I couldnít believe how many people there were at the Bandshell stage on the 23rd. At least 1000, Iíd say.) I enjoyed playing for everyone and I like to give a thanks to all who supported me. I would also like to thank the paper for putting my performing times because there were some that came from seeing that.
Back to never ending college homework.
