NB business owner dies in car crash
By Barbara Brown North Branch businessman John Anthony Bistodeau died Saturday after the car he was driving hit another car head-on on County Road 30. North Branch Police Chief Jules Zimmer said early indications point to Bistodeau, 47, traveling north on CR 30 between 415th and 420th streets when his vehicle apparently crossed the center line and struck a vehicle being driven by Mark Allan Ashley, 34, of 403rd St., North Branch. Both men were air-lifted to metro area hospitals for treatment. They were the only occupants of the vehicles, police said. Ashley remained in the hospital Monday evening. Zimmer said the investigation continued Monday. Bistodeau was born in Minneapolis, but graduated from North Branch High School in 1974. He owned J & J CarQuest for 13 years and had owned Billís Trailers for four years. Services are Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
