NB cross country starts season with several
strong performances

The North Branch cross country squad participated in its first major invitational Aug. 25, and found some strong performances emerge, particularly at the junior high level.

Overall, the varsity boys finished ninth out of 16 teams at the Milaca Olson Invitational. The girls team was 10th out of 12 teams.

Leading the varsity boys was Nick Ramberg, with a time of 19:28 for 18th place. The varsity girls were led by state cross country runner Katie Hasleiet, finishing at 18:03 for 11th place.

The junior varsity girls were third in team scoring, led by Amanda Peterson, who finished second out of 55 runners with a time of 20:16. Nick Sausen led the J.V. boys, coming in 26th with a time of 12:40.

Boyd Suparat was second in the 7th-8th grade boys race, with a time of 7:14.

Next up in the schedule for the squad is a meet at Cambridge Friday.
