Following two days of intense interviewing, the Rush City School Board is looking to hold a second interview for two and possibly four of the seven candidates for the superintendent position.

On Monday night the board gathered after the second full day of interviewing and district building tours to decide the next step in the filling of the position which will be vacant at the end of the school year.

While in their scoring evaluation four of the seven have come out on top, board chairman John Bosman stressed that they are not eliminating any candidates yet.

The board is planning to do site visits for four of the candidates and check references in the next week or two.

After the site visits, the board hopes to narrow the candidates to two for final interviews.

Also, at a special meeting last week, the board agreed to authorize Charles Orton of the DLR Group to prepare bid specifications for a new bus garage.

The board has not yet made the final decision to go ahead with the building, but, according to Superintendent Tim Eklund, in order to find out the cost of construction, the district will seek bids on the project.

The board can reject bids if it they thing costs are more than the district is willing to spend.

The new garage would be located north of the football field near the water tower.
