To the editor:
We the members of the North Branch V.F.W. Aux. to Post #6424 wish to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support our first fundraising attempt in the form of a dinner on Sunday, March 28. A delicious taco dinner was enjoyed in the comfortable Legion Hall in a pleasant atmosphere decorated with patriotic colors and the red Buddy Poppy. No one went away hungry and the bake sale was welcomed by those in attendance.
A share of the receipts is going to support a trip to an educational national conference for a 9-year-old Lindstrom girl and her mother and sister. Courtney Herman has spina bifida and a conference like this can be beneficial to her and her family. Courtneyís father is presently deployed to Iraq.
The rest of our receipts goes to help support our community projects and youth activities and Americanism and Patriotism activities in the schools.
We also wish to express sincere appreciation to Jim Nelson, a troop #141 leader, and his six Boy Scouts for their wonderful energetic help in serving the dinner. They did a commendable job and everyone enjoyed their presence.
On behalf of the
N.B. V.F.W
