To the editor:
We wish to thank everyone who participated in the local National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug 3. There were events in Harris, North Branch and Stacy simultaneously. National Night Out is a program designed to help communities prevent crime, raise awareness of safety issues and enhance relationships in neighborhoods because we are more apt to keep an eye out for people we know.
Each park had live entertainment, prizes and games. All three local National Night Out events where sponsored by the Chisago County Sheriffís and the North Branch Police Departments and endorsed by the city councils of Harris, North Branch and Stacy. Independent Security Solutions and Andersen Corp. provided the grand prize given in each park. Xcel Energy, Faith Community Fellowship, Abundant Life Church and S&C Bank of Harris were financial contributors. Bearly Big Gymnastics and North Branch Dairy Queen supplied the inflatable bouncers. Sun Yiís Academy ñ Tae Kwon Do Academy provided personal safety demonstrations. Fairview Lakes Medical, Youth Service Bureau, Family Pathways, North Star Theater, Community Partnership with Youth & Families, North Branch ECFE, Masons and local fire departments provided activities in the parks. Bimanic Studio Productions, Doug Doble, and Randy and Sandy provided entertainment.ÝNorth Branch Municipal Light & Power and Post Review helped with publicity. Organizational support provided by community leaders, North Branch Area Community Education and North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce.
