Boy Scouts say thank to many in the community

To the editor:

ìIndianhead Scouting BSA [Boy Scouts of America] helps our communityís young people achieve their full potential, developing such qualities as self-confidence, leadership, respect for others and a commitment to service.î ñIndianhead Council mission statement.

Thanks to many community organizations and businesses, the boys in Boy Scout Troop 411 of North Branch have made great strides toward achieving their full potential.

The North Branch Soccer Association and Community Education gave the Troop permission to sell concessions during the Micro Soccer program. This gave the boys the opportunity to learn new skills - making change, working with customers, teamwork - and to raise money to support additional Scouting activities.

Several local businesses contributed to the Troopís success as well, by donating and discounting food, ice, and paper products: North Branch Dairy Queen, North Branch Dominoís, Timís Country Cupboard, and Berchinís A&W of Pine City.

Troop 411 has used the proceeds from concession stand sales to purchase tents, trailers, coolers, camping equipment, and Scouting events. North Branch Collision was kind enough to donate a paint job for the trailers; Braham Monument Company and SS Graphics donated the vinyl lettering.

The support of these organizations and, of course, the soccer players and spectators who patronized the concession stand has been fabulous - thank you! Troop 411 looks forward to seeing you next summer at Micro Soccer.
