An exhibit titled ìA Retrospective Look at Cambridge State Hospitalî opened on
Sept. 11 at the Isanti County Heritage Center. Composed of photographs taken by professional photographer Ken Anderson, complemented by a collection of historical artifacts and stories by Roger Anderson, retired Cambridge State Hospital employee, this exhibit provides a unique look and remembrance of the hospitalís past years. Among the items displayed are the time capsules unearthed during the demolition in 2003, many photographs, newspaper articles, Special Olympics awards and scrapbooks, and past employee remembrances.
The exhibit will be retired in mid-to-late January.
The Isanti County Historical Society Heritage Center is located in the northwest corner of the Isanti County Fairgrounds and is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and by appointment.
