The North Branch wrestling squad placed third in the eight-team Big Lake Invitational on Dec. 10, with Jeremy Bergerson winning the 215 pound competition and Jeff Holmgren winning at 135.

Earlier in the week the Vikings last to Foley 18-47 and to St. Cloud Tech, 32-37.

ìWe knew that these two duals would be very tough, with both these teams ranked in the top 15 of their respective classes, but we felt we could go hard against them,î said Coach Tony Aho. ìAgain, as has been the case in the early season, the guys went hard in every match, but came up short when it counted. We will just keep working hard in practice and they will find a way to win these kind of matches.î
