Tiger girls upset Barnum

The Rush City Tigers put together their best all-around game of the young season on Dec. 7, defeating state-ranked Barnum at Barnum 47-34.

In fact, Coach Stuart Lang said it was the best he has seen a Tiger team play in his six years at the school.

ìIt was a total team effort. Now we need to be consistent and play with that mind set every night,î he said.í

Unfortunately, that mind set deserted the team two nights later, when the Tigers lost to Braham 47-54.
Breann Stottler and Becky Kemen came up big for the Tigers in the Barnum game. Stottler, a senior, scored 20 points with 5 assists, 4 steals and 5 rebounds. Kemen put in 12 points and came up with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.

But it was the teamís defense that sealed the game, holding Barnum to 11 points in the first half.
In contrast, the Tigers got off to a poor start against Braham and had to contend with foul trouble the entire game.
Bright spots in the game were Heather Dean, who had 3 assists and 3 steals, and Holly Grimes, who came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
