Eleven contestants participated in the 2004 AmericInn Chess Tournament. They were from Lindstrom, Chisago City, North Branch, St. Francis, Plymouth, Royalton and Scandia.
They placed as follows: Luke Balhorn, Plymouth, first place; Reed Yehle, Scandia, second place; Matthew Kramer, Chisago City, third place (all three will advance to National Finals); Joseph Hartinger, fourth place; Cody Risen, fifth place; Tyler Hoffman, sixth place; Kenny Morff, seventh place; Taylor Streitz, eighth place; Chris Floyd and Charlie Wilcox (tie), ninth and tenth place; and Max Morff, eleventh place.
