Grapplers head to sections

The Rush City wrestling squad opened the Section 6A team championships Tuesday as the No. 6 seed.

At 8-8 in dual meets, the Tigers were pitted against the No. 3 seed Mille Lacs with a 12-8 record. Other matches Tuesday included No. 1 Pierz against No. 8 Holdingford, No. 5 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa against No. 4 Braham and No. 7 Hinckley-Finlayson against No. 2 Paynesville.
A win would advance Rush City to the semifinal round Friday, Feb. 20 at Royalton High School.

The Section 6A individual championships are scheduled for Feb. 27-28 at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School in Belgrade. Preliminaries start Friday at 4 p.m., with semifinal matches set to start Saturday at noon.
