Sheldon Onasch

Sheldon Onasch, age 67, of Harris died unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at his brotherís home in North Branch.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural Isanti with Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Strike Funeral Home ñ Cambridge Chapel and also one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church. The musician is Henry Novotny. Honorary pallbearer is Hardy Lee Onasch. Pallbearers are Charlie Blackbird, Lige Crawford, Craig Gutkow, Shane and Sonny Lee, Dan, D.J. and Jim Onasch. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.

Sheldon Herman Onasch was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Isanti to Arthur and Martha Onasch. He was raised and lived his early years at Isanti. Sheldon then served in the Army. After the service he lived in Anoka for fifteen years. In 1984 he moved to Harris where he has since made his home.

He retired as a caulker from Carciofini Caulking Company of New Brighton. He was a member of Local Union #1 in Minneapolis. Sheldon enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Ken) Holmes of Phoenix, Arizona; and Rebecca (Kevin) Nesset; four grandchildren, David Kaspszak and Nicole Holmes of Phoenix; Brianna and Brittany Nessett of East Bethel; seven brothers and sisters, Art (Marilyn) Onasch of North Branch; Hardy (Sandy) Onasch of Henriette; Lola Crawford and Ron Peterson of Cambridge; Daryl (Debbie) Onasch of Mora; Darlyn (Vince) Glidden of Braham; Terrie (Mike) Bobo of Braham; Vonnie (Jim) Lee of Braham; and by many other relatives and friends.
