North Branch man buys Isantiís famed Creamery CafeBy Greg Hunt Troy Sederberg of North Branch has taken over Isantiís longest standing restaurant, the Creamery Cafe. Sederberg has operated the downtown establishment for one month after buying out Linda Draxten and Roger Fox, the previous owners. ìI like the small-town setting of the Creamery Cafe, its reputation as a restaurant,î Sederberg said. ìThe baker, cooks and staff are a dedicated group which has been at the restaurant for some time,î he added. Linda Draxten was also in the Creamery that morning to say good-bye to customers and friends before she and Roger soon move to Arizona. Earlier in his life, Sederberg lived in Isanti for 3 1/2 years, so he was aware of the quality of food which is consistently served at the Creamery Cafe. He also recognized there is a loyal group of regulars who makes its way into town for breakfast, lunch and dinners, along with the Sunday after-church crowd. Homemade soups and pies will still be an emphasis. Included in that repertoire are items like the Creameryís Braham Pie Day award-winning strawberry rhubarb pie. The bar will feature its own homemade salads and pastas. Daily specials and take-out lunches will still be available. Sederberg will keep the Creamery Cafe on its regular winter hours at present, closing at 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. He also will host an all day customer appreciation event at the Creamery Cafe on Saturday, Jan. 31. The Creamery Cafe can be reached at (763) 444-5523. ©ECM Post Review |
