Frances Ann Anderson

Frances Ann Anderson of Stacy passed away at her
residence on Monday, Jan. 19, 2004.
She was born Jan. 26, 1948 at the Rush City Hospital to L. Edwin and Agnes (Novak) Anderson.
She was developmentally challenged with Downs Syndrome and lived with her parents in Rock Creek and Rush City, Minn. until the age of thirteen.
Frances resided at the Cambridge State Hospital and the Lake Owasso Care Center near St. Paul for a number of years before moving to Ken and Judy Carlsonís foster home at Chisago City. This would be her home for the next twenty-some years. After heart surgery several years ago her health began to deteriorate and the last six months of her life Frances lived at the North Country Residence in Stacy.

Everyone who knew Frances remembers her as a happy, always smiling and friendly person who just wanted to be helpful. At family gatherings for holidays she helped set the dining table and made sure everything was in its proper place. After the meal she would help her cousinís clear the table.

A hard worker, Frances worked at the Chisago Lakes Day Activity Center doing bedmaking at the Birchwood Nursing Home in Forest Lake. Her education was at D.A.C.ís day programs and their activities.
Favorite pastimes for Frances were horseback riding, dancing, and being with friends.

Frances is survived by her mother Agnes (Novak) Anderson of the Green Acres Nursing Home in North Branch and many cousins and friends.

Her father L. Edwin Anderson preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 23, at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with the Rev. Ed Wheatley officiating.

Casketbearers were her cousins Gene Anderson, Larry Anderson, Dennis Bonk, and Don Bonneville and two caregivers Aaron and Brittany Stevenson with interment in the family plot in the Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City.
