Wrestlers pin down two winsTwo Rush City wrestlers could be headed to the schoolís record books this week. Senior Tim Morris and sophomore Adam Morris could secure 60 career wins each during bouts this week. On Jan. 22, Rush City went head-to-head with Trinity and rolled over the team, winning the match 40-31. Sophomore Matt Wuorinen, 125, had two wins in one week. Senior Scott Englund won an overtime match at 189 against Trinity and senior Mike Wuorinen continued his winning streak by adding two more. Team addition Josiah Allen showed his talent and potential at 215 by beating Hinckleyís Travis Otterer with a pin in 3:14. Although the wins boosted the teamís confidence and pushed the overall record to 7-5 with a 3-1 record in the conference, head coach Kevin Jensen was cautiously optimistic. ìWe wrestled well, but not as well as we expected,î Jensen said. ìI think our kids know that we will need to wrestle better to beat Princeton or Mille Lacs.î The Tigers hosted both Princeton and Mille Lacs at home this week with Princetonís match on Jan. 27 and the face-off with Mille Lacs scheduled for today. ©ECM Post Review |
