Louise Emma Rutz

Louise Rutz, age 90, of North Branch, formerly of Hutchinson, died Jan. 1, 2004 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge, Minn.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 5, at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Dr. Roger Anderson officiating. The soloist was Amy Runion. The organist was Mary Stauffer and Barry Westman was the pianist.
A funeral was also held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Shalom
Baptist Church in Hutchinson with Dr. Roger Anderson and Rev. Allen Travaille officiating. The soloist was Amy Runion and the pianist was Bev Krueger. The pallbearers were Paul, Mark, Bruce and John Krueger, Rick Turner and Larry Graf. Interment was at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.
Louise Emma Rutz was born Jan. 28, 1913 in Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, Minn., to Paul and Amanda Krueger. Louise graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1930 and Normal Training for teachers in 1931. She taught in rural Meeker County School District 69.
On Nov. 4, 1937 she married Francis Rutz in Mananah, Minn. and they made their home at Cedar Mills, Minn.
In 1954 they moved to Hutchinson. Louise was a long time member of Shalom Baptist Church in Hutchinson where she served as organist, pianist and Sunday School teacher. Her husband, Francis, died in 1975 and then in May of 1976 she moved to rural North Branch to live with her daughter and family. Louise has had great joy in years spent with her only granddaughter. Her talents included cooking, baking, sewing, reading and she also had the gift of serving others. She has been a faithful attendee of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti since 1976.
Louise is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Don Hartzell of North Branch; her granddaughter, Linda Louise Hartzell of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Shirley Krueger of Hutchinson, Raymond and Gloria Krueger of Cedar Mills; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Ruby Krueger, Karl and Lucille Krueger; and by a sister,
Florence, in early childhood.
