Playhouse 15ís summer musical will be Al Cappís ěLiíl Abner.î The world-famous characters have been placed in an upbeat musical extravaganza in a mixture of hillbilly nonsense and sharp, critical humor that appeals to the sophisticated theatregoer as well as the child in us all.Ý
Director Fredrick Rogers and music director Florian Keller encourage all adults and young adult actors, singers, dancers to audition. There are nearly 50 roles, including six childrenís roles. Auditions will be at St. Francis High School, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., July 19 and 20, with possible callbacks on the 21. Ý
Rehearsals will begin Aug. 2 and run through Sept.16, Monday through Friday for most leads and various days for supporting roles and chorus. Performance dates are:Ý Sept. 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26;Ý 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets; adults $11, children $8.
