Myrtle A. Britz

Myrtle Alvina Britz, age 100 of North Branch, died on July 4, 2004, at the Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge.
Funeral services will be held July 9 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch.
Myrtle was born on Nov. 11, 1903, to Frank and Emily (Carlson) Rydeen in North Branch. Myrtle attended school in North Branch and worked on the family farm and later as a domestic worker in North Branch and Minneapolis.
In 1926 she married Floyd Britz of Amador and six children were born to this marriage. Floyd and Myrtle made their home in the Sunrise area for many years where Myrtle devoted her time to her family.
In 1950 along with Carol and Tom they moved to a new home in North Branch where Myrtle continued to live with her family, many friends and her garden. Myrtle spent the last three years at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge.
Myrtle was preceded in death by husband Floyd, son Tom, daughter Bonnie Lou, and grandson Gregory Schrul.
She is survived by two sons Curtis and wife Dorothy of Fridley, James and wife Judy of South St. Paul, two daughters Hazel Schrul of White Bear Lake and Carol Whalen and husband John of Roseville; two brothers Alfred Rydeen of North Branch, and Philip Rydeen of Minneapolis; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
