The North Branch boys golf team has several highlights from its 2004 season.
Highlights include: tying for second place at the Pine City Scramble with an individual group setting a new event record with a 62 for first place; finishing fourth in the conference and tying for third at the conference meet.
Individual highlights include Tyler Leland earning all-conference and Tom Koep earning honorable mention. Koep also advanced to the section finals.
Golfers named to the all-conference academic team are Greg Moriarty, Brad Peters and Travis Peterson.
Gold Spotlight on Scholarship award winners are Jacob Lane, Daniel Mork, Peters, Peterson and Moriarty. Gold winners maintain a grade point average of 3.6-4.0
Silver Spotlight on Scholarship award winners are Marshall Johnson, Michael Johnson, Tyler Mackenzie, Bryan Peters, Jacob Thompson and Leland. Silver winners maintain a grade point average of 3.0-3.59.
Head Coach Tom Moriarty said this yearís three seniors will be missed next season for their leadership and friendship: Tyler Leland, Tom Moriarty and Marshall Johnson.
He also extends a special thanks to Drew Ekstrom, head pro at the Refuge for putting on a clinic for this yearís team and Steve Perreault for his continued support of the golf team.
