To the editor:

What I remember about former President Ronald Reagan is this nation and the Republican Party was in turmoil when Ronald Reagan was elected President and he basically saved the Republican Party and the nation.ÝIn 2001 at the Minnesota Republican Partyís state convention I gave a speech titled ìHow Far Have We Strayed?î I was considering a run for the Minnesota State Auditor in 2002 at the time.ÝWhat I discussed was principles that I believed in and how they compared to Ronald Reaganís and recited some excerpts from his speeches.ÝI then posed the question to the Minnesota Delegates in attendance ìHow Far Have We Strayed?îÝ
Ever since giving this speech, the Minnesota Republican Party leadership and some leaders at the national level have basically ostracized me and brought some pretty vicious attacks at me for my beliefs.Ý

President Bush, I hope you are able to fill the shoes of Ronald Reagan and lead this nation back to where it was when Ronald Reagan left the White House.ÝIf we as Republicans and Americans remember what Ronald Reagan stood for and come back to the path we have strayed from, maybe we can save this nation and the Republican Party one more time.

Doing this would be the greatest tribute and memorial to our former President Ronald Wilson Reagan we could ever give him and his family as a people and as a nation.ÝAs for me, he is the greatest President of the 20th Century.ÝTo Nancy, our First Lady and his beloved widow, Michael, his son (also a man of great conviction), and the rest of the family, I tip my hat to you.Ý

Last, but not least, I tip my hat to the Gipper.ÝTake care and may the Lord of Hosts, Jesus Christ, bless you all.
