Who steals flowers from a grave?

To the editor:
It was hard enough when I lost my best friend and husband and my daughters lost their father 5 1/2 years ago, but when my daughter and I went to the cemetery on Saturday what we discovered was appalling.

The flowers that had been put there for the summer had been stolen. At first I thought I had driven past the grave site but then I saw the empty plant stand. What is this world coming to? Not only are some callus to our fellow humans, but some also feel it necessary to disgrace and rob the dead. The cemetery is supposed to be a place that we can go and pay our respects to those we have lost. A place where we can meditate and to just reflect on what has passed and be with our loved ones and our friends.

Why would someone be so cruel? Whoever did this has no compassion or no self respect for themselves.
Enjoy the white geraniums and the yellow straw flower plants. Remember and reflect on where you got them. Eventually you too will be in that cemetery standing over someone you love. How will you feel then? Only God will know and you too will be judged.
