Thomas Steven Britz, age 56, of Minneapolis, Minn. formerly of North Branch, Minn. died on May 31, 2004 at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Thom was born on Nov. 7, 1947 in Almelund to Floyd and Myrtle (Rydeen) Britz. Thomas was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in almelund and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch.

Tom graduated from North Branch High School and attended college at St. Cloud State and the University of Minneosta in Minneapolis. He graduated with a degree in journalism.

Tom moved to Minneapolis where he worked several jobs in journalism and free lance writing. The last 12 years he worked for American Express until July of 2002.

Tom was preceded in death by his father Floyd in 1996 and sister Bonnie Lou.

Tom is survived by his mother Myrtle of Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge; two brothers, Curtis and wife Dorothy of Fridley, Minn. and James and wife Judy of South St. Paul, Minn., two sisters, Hazel Schrul of White Bear Lake and Carol Shalen and husband John of Roseville, Minn., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch with Rev. Loren Mellum officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery
