The North Branch track teams hosted the final event of their regular season last Thursday with the North Branch Invitational.
The Vikings boys captured first place in the invite with 102 points, followed by Chisago Lakes in second with 95.5 points. Spring Lake Park was third, Cambridge-Isanti came in fourth and Princeton finished in fifth.
The squad earned 5 first-place finishes. In discus, North Branch had 3 throwers in the top four, led by Phil Olson in first with a throw of 133í7î. Zack Backus was second with 129í9î and Billy Oehlers was fourth with 119í6î.
Oehlers was also first in shot put with a throw of 48í1î.
Joe Lofboom took first in the pole vault, clearing 12í. Al Moore was first in high jump, clearing 5í10î and first in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.90.
The boys 4 x 800m relay team was first with a time of 8:35.50. Nick Ramberg took first in the 1600m run with a time of 4:42.90.
Josh Beach was second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.30 and second in the high jump, clearing 5í8î. He also took fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.70.
The 4 x 400m relay team took second with a time of 3:38.90 and the 4 x 100m relay team was third with a time of 46.50.
Lofboom was third in the 400m dash with a time of 52.70. Nick Sausen was third in the 800m run with a time of 2:10.30 and Mike Ferguson was fifth in the event with a time of 2:11.50.
The girls team finished with 77 points for third place. Cambridge-Isanti took first with 110 points, followed by Spring Lake Park in second. Chisago Lakes was fourth and Princeton was fifth.
Jenny Anderson took first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.30 and second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 48.50. She also finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 4í8î.
The 4 x100m relay and 4 x 400m relay teams both took first for the girls. The 4 x 100 team finished with a time of 52.80 and the 4 x 400 team had a time of 4:18.40.
The 4 x 200m relay team finished second with a time of 1:51.40, less than 1 second behind Spring Lake Park in first.
Heather Schwab was second in the 100m dash with a time of 13.30 and fifth in the long jump with a jump of 14í4.5î. Jill Vanden Heuvel was second in the 200m dash with a time of 27.40 and Alyssa Houle was fifth in the event with a time of 28.40.
Tess Prouty-Kunshier was second in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04.50 and Cori Fairbanks was fifth with a time of 1:08.00.
Rachel Souther was third in the 800m run with a time of 2:38.80 and Amanda Peterson was fifth in the event with a time of 2:44.20.
Tiffany Peterson was third in the 1600m run with a time of 6:10.80 and Trissica Bye was third in the pole vault, clearing 8í6î.
Ashley Steele was fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 51.90.
Both teams were scheduled to compete in the 7AA sections this week, beginning with the preliminaries June 2 and section finals June 5. Both events will be held at Cambridge.
