To the editor:
Seegwan XXI at Wild River State Park is history. Many hardy souls turned out on (an occasionally wet) Saturday, May 22, to: purchase native plants, sow $42,000 worth of hand harvested prairie seeds, pull stubborn buckthorn, girdle aspen encroaching on our oak savanna prairies, listen to a presentation by snake wrestler and sometime park naturalist Dave Crawford.
It was a fun day. The Friends of Wild River State Park would like to thank Thrivent of Chisago County for their matching funds and Dan Moran of Melon Patch Herbs for starting the seeds for the prairie plant sale, transplanting the plants and tending them for our sale. His plants may be purchased at the St. Paul Farmersí Market.
