He says bring the troops home

To the editor:
This past month Rwanda launched a pre-emptive strike against the Congo. Wonder where they got the idea that was ok to launch a pre-emptive strike against another country?

Of course, the question on most peopleís minds, should the United States bring our troops home from Iraq? There is a growing belief that the war was a big mistake and that our continued presence is not only unwelcome, but increases the likelihood of terrorism there andÝon our soil. On the on the other hand, we cannot ìcut and run.î It is not only that we created the mess, but leaving without rebuilding the infrastructure we destroyed would further anger our allies and the Iraqi people, and risk greater problems in the future..

Personally, I would like to see Bush apologize to the Iraqi people and the families of those that were killed or injured by his decision to invade Iraq. Next we should ask the United Nations to stabilize and return self-governing to Iraq. Finally, we have a moral obligation and a strategic reason to rebuild what we destroyed and I think Bush should resign.

War is not the solution to intolerance, terrorism, poverty or oppression. Saddam Hussein was considered by our country as ìevil,î rightfully so, but what about the evil going on in the Congo where an estimated 3.5 million people have died. You do not destroy evil with evil, nor do we have to tolerate such evil. Trying to destroy evil with war only results in countless deaths and considerable destruction. It is a lesson Christ taught us, but we continue to fail to follow today, whether in Vietnam, Iraq, Palestine or the Congo. Good people must speak out to end this military madness. Support our troops, bring them home!
