Junior Jeremy Bergerson faced Jordan Stracke from St. Cloud Tech in the first round of the Class AAA State Wrestling Tournament Thursday, March 4 at the Xcel Center in St. Paul.
After a strong first period, Bergerson struggled and was eventually pinned in the third period by Stracke. Bergerson was officially eliminated from competition when Stracke lost his next match.
In the Class AAA 215 lb. bracket, Mike Maresh of Champlin Park continued his undefeated streak from the regular season to take the championship.
This was Bergersonís second straight appearance at the state meet. He will return to the North Branch team next season as one of several seniors who demonstrate tremendous leadership and skill.
