To the editor:
What will be the fate of the Swedish Immigrant Trail?
There seems to be concern by both trail advocates and the landowners that have chosen not to participate. The fact is the County Board has indicated that they will not support the use of condemnation to pursue the remaining parcels needed for the Swedish Immigrant Trail.
That is simply what has occurred.
For the areas where the landowners have chosen not to participate the abandoned corridor will not be accessible for the foreseeable future.
The County Parks Department is seeking grant funding for trail construction in areas where we have home owner participation.
