To the editor:
Mourning doves have been protected in the state of Minnesota since 1946. Yet the issue of hunting them has been before the state Legislature 20 times since 1947.
What seems to be wrong with this picture? As our problems grow with health insurance, prescription drugs, welfare issues, taxes, the development that is weakening our infrastructure, etc., we are electing legislators to deal with the maiming and killing of the peaceful 4 oz. mourning dove.
Letís get on with the real problems facing our citizens by contacting your state senator and representative immediately and urge them to oppose this bill.
