To the editor:
Our students and staff are so lucky at C. E. Jacobson Elementary because our PTO is so proactive in helping provide good programming and equipment for our school. I write this letter to acknowledge the hard working volunteers that make our school a super place to work.
For instance, our PTO gives each of our 5th-grade students $25 toward their class trip to Camp St. Croix in Hudson, Wisc. Next, they plan a carnival and let the 5th graders run it and pay each of the students for their hours worked. Thus, providing more income for the students to pay for their whole 3-day trip to Camp St. Croix. The cost of the trip is $92 and many students have their trip paid for by working at the carnival.
On top of that, our PTO gives each staff member $100 toward something for their classrooms each year. We are truly in debt to our hard working PTO members.
Right now they are in the process of raising money to add another playground area for the intermediate levels.
Thank you to all of you volunteers. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
