A team from North Branch High School is among nine teams advancing to the regional Class AA Knowledge Bowl competition.
Twenty-five teams from the Class AA schools participated in the first round of sub-regional competition on Thursday, March 11 at Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell.
Teams advancing from the first round of varsity competition are from Buffalo (2 teams), Cambridge, North Branch, Elk River, Apollo, Sartell, Tech and Becker.
The nine teams along with nine teams from Class A will advance to the regional competition which Wednesday, March 31 at Celebration Lutheran Church. The schedule and format will be the same as the subregional competitions.
The top two teams from each class will compete within their class to advance to the State meet. Additionally, the third place team from each class will complete in a one oral round to determine the fifth team to advance to the State Knowledge Bowl tournament.
These five teams will advance to the State Knowledge Bowl event at Cragun's, Brainerd on April 20-21.
North Branch team members are: Jordan Gades, Jessica Johnston, Nick Sausen, Jason Endriss and Jeromie Hamann.
