Township election results are in

Annual township elections for Chisago County townships were held March 9.

In Rushseba Township, incumbent Jon Moulton lost to challenger Duane Weiner for a three-year supervisor position. In a tight contest, Moulton received 65 votes while Weiner won the seat with 71 votes. There was also 1 write-in vote for the supervisor position. Clerk David Nelson ran unopposed and received 129 votes. A total of 137 voters cast ballots in Rushseba Township.

In Fish Lake Township, incumbent Bob Cupit was re-elected with 105 votes. Challenger Will Lacina received 12 votes and there was 1 write-in vote.

There were 118 voters in the township election. The township no longer holds elections for clerk ñ it is now an appointed position. Andrea Nekowitsch serves as clerk for Fish Lake Township.

In Oxford Township, incumbent Chilton Hagan ran against challenger Morris Anderson to fill a three-year supervisor position.

Hagan received 25 votes and Anderson received 13 votes. Linnea Lentz, running unopposed for the clerk position, received 31 votes. There were also 3 write-in votes for the clerk position. A total of 38 voters went to the polls in Oxford Township.

In Amador Township, incumbent Ray Johnson ran unopposed for his supervisor position, receiving 50 votes. Christine Johnson was being promoted as a write-in candidate for the clerk position. Johnson received 40 votes. There were 50 voters in Amador Township.

In Sunrise Township, Delano Olson and Jeff Schoen ran unopposed for 2 three-year Planning Commission seats. Olson received 47 votes and Schoen received 39 votes. There were a total of 6 write-in votes for the two Planning Commission seats.

Supervisor Lyle Thompson, running unopposed for his three-year position, received 44 votes. There were 2 write-in votes for the supervisor position. Clerk Wendy Kowalke also ran unopposed, receiving 45 votes.

There was 1 write-in vote for the clerk position and a total of 50 voters in the Sunrise Township election.
In Lent Township, incumbent Lyle Johnson ran unopposed for a three-year supervisor position, receiving 77 votes. There were 14 write-in votes for the position. Charles Peterson was re-elected to the clerk position with 87 votes. There were 88 voters in the Lent Township election.

In North Branch Township, incumbent Robert Schmidt and clerk Shawn Williams both ran unopposed and were re-elected to their seats. Schmidt received 21 votes and was named board chair. Williams received 23 votes. Twenty-four people voted.

Nessel Township will hold its elections in November.
