Evelyn L. Tisdel

A dear, sweet, gentle lady, Evelyn L. Tisdel passed as gracefully from this life as she lived it. At the age of 89 years, eight months and 26 days, she died at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City on Feb. 26, 2004.

Evelyn was born June 4, 1914 on a farm in White, South Dakota, and was the daughter of Ernest and Grace (Nelson) Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris A. Tisdel, and her nine brothers and sisters, Ada, Doris, Grace, Irene, Mardell, Marion, Everest, Glen and Rodney.

Although Evelyn has been a resident of the Rush City community for several years, she had raised her family and made her home at Excelsior for many years before that.

Evelyn was an exceptionally wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who loved her family above all else. She was an excellent cook, fastidious housekeeper, and spent many nights sewing dresses for her daughters. She always managed to do so much with very few resources.

Later in life she discovered crewel stitchery, which became her passion. She created many beautiful pictures that she was proud to show and share with one and all.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters: Carol (Richard) Fetzer, Karen (Gary) Schmid, all of Rush City, and Colleen (Larry) Anderson of Walker; grandchildren: Michael (Leesa) Schmid of Mora, Andrew Schmid of Lakeville, Rebecca (Jake Anderson Enebak of Prior Lake, Scott Anderson, also of Prior Lake, and Jeffrey Fetzer of Rush City; great grandchildren: Jessica (Jon Marshall) Schmid of Mora, Henry, Emma, and Sam Eneback, all of Prior Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She asked many times ěto go home,î and now she has, taking her beautiful smile to share with Jesus in heaven.

Special thanks to the staff at Hillcrest Health Care Center for the wonderful care given to Evelyn during her residency there.

A celebration of Evelynís life will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 7, at Rush Oaks, 20 N. Eliot Ave., Rush City, Minn. Arrangements by the Olson Chapel, Funeral and Cremation Service, Rush City.
