Mildred Ann Pankan

Mildred Ann Pankan, age 89 of Isanti, Minn., died on Feb. 11, 2004 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Christian Burial was held Saturday, Feb. 14, at St. Elizabethís Catholic Church in Isanti. Interment was at St. Josephís Catholic Cemetery in North Branch. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, North Branch.

MIldred was born on May 19, 1915 in Avon to Nicholas and Mary (Wolney) Philipsek. She moved to St. Paul and went to work at the St. Paul Seminary, she also worked at the N.P Hospital as a cook.

On Nov. 27, 1943 she married Robert John Pankan in St. Paul. She then worked as a homemaker raising her three children after they moved to Isani. She took a part time job delivering the Scotsman.

Mildred enjoyed gardening, her flowers, making quilts, baking and cooking, playing cards, going to church and church dinners. Most important she loved family gatherings and her family.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters. She is survived by two sons Robert Jr. and wife Verna, and Tom and wife Carol; daughter Mary Ann Johnson and husband Owen; three sisters Rita Brozinski, Marcella Brown, and Viola Murphy; nine grandchildren: James, Timothy, Joey, Ronald, Rhonda, Bonnie, Heidi, Michelle and Jeffrey; 11 great-grandchildren: Joe, Timothy, Alicia, Nicole, Kennady, Austin, Kaitlyn, Emma, Johan, Zach, and Brody; many other relatives and friends.
