To the editor:
Thank you Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Today our local chapter distributed checks totaling $2,513 to the various food pantries in the Chisago County area.
As you probably know, donations received by the food pantries in March are matched by another organization.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans chapter system is designed to distribute fraternal dollars to volunteer-members who create and execute community outreach programs, which help Lutheran congregations, individuals and community organizations through fund raisers and hands-on service activities. Members and non-members volunteer through service teams that exist in the community or in congregations.
Anyone can join in the volunteer activity at the local level. To find a local chapter, contact 800-THRIVENT, ext.8-5909. (In Chisago County call (651) 674-4960) Membership is not required to participate.
