The Vikings girls golf team continued their Rum River Conference winning streak at Silver Springs as they defeated Big Lake by a score of 198 to 215 last week.
The win left North Branch with a 6-0 conference record, tied for first place with Milaca.
ìThe weather was beautiful and the girls took advantage of the conditions to record their best 9 hole conference score of the year,î Head Coach Dave Ambers said.
Amy Aho led the field with a 48 for North Branch, followed by Sara Schwalbe, Hanna Lindberg and Kelsey Perreault each with 50. Other scores for the Vikings were Lacee Scherer with a 53 and Kelsey Johnson with a 54.
ìWe were all excited to see Sara's score. She had been in the mid to upper 50's all season and it was good to see the senior have a nice round,î Ambers said.
ìKelsey Perreault had her best 9 of the year as her steady improvement continues. Amy and Hanna have been pretty steady all year and we've come to expect their scores to count almost every meet.î
Ambers is hoping the teamís success will follow through with a big meet against defending conference champ Milaca this Thursday.
