Loren Floyd Bourke, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Grande) Bourke, was born March 12, 1960 in Minneapolis.
He grew up in Mounds View where he met his wife, the former Ronda Lea Olson. Their son, James William was born May 4, 1980.
Loren and Ronda were married in Palisade where they lived for several years. The returned to Mounds View for a few years and in 1988 moved to their present home on Goose Lake near rural Rush City.
During the summer and winter months Loren could usually be found out on the lake catching fish and having a good time. He also enjoyed hunting deer, geese, and ducks in the fall of the year. He liked working on farm equipment, especially tractors.
In the year 2000, Loren became a grandfather to Keegan, Alexis, and Logan. He loved teaching them how to fish and enjoyed all the time he could spend with them.
Many people will remember Loren as a comedian who was always having a good time. ìBig bad Lorenî was really a softy at heart and could be depended upon to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He will always be loved and missed by his family and those who knew him.
Loren passed away at his home in Fish Lake Township on May 10, 2004 at the age of 44 years. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Bourke; son: James Bourke of Braham; grandchildren: Keegan, Logan, and Alexis; parents: Kenneth and Elizabeth Bourke, Isanti; sister and brother-in-law: Shelly and David Goodwin, Blaine; brothers: Harold Bourke, Cambridge, Kenneth Bourke, Edina and Andreas Bourke, Anoka; mother-in-law: Lona Nordgren of Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; plenty of good friends; and his best buddy, Buck.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Calvary Lutheran Church at Rush Point. The Reverend Keith Kolzow officiated at the service and music was provided by Janice Johnson. Arrangements were by Olson Chapel, Funeral and Cremation Service, Rush City.
