RC girls take first at quad

The Rush City girls tallied 107 points to earn first place at the Hinckley-Finlayson quad meet May 14. The boys team finished in last place at the meet.

Individual first place awards were won by Liz Melin in the 100m hurdles, the triple jump and the 300m hurdles. Christine Moore took first in the pole vault, Amber Hoffman was first in the long jump and Alex Saxton was first in the 200m dash.

Jeff Jennings had the lone first place finish for the boys team, taking first in the high jump.

Both teams also competed at Hinckley May 11 in an invitational. The girls took first in the 10-team meet with 120 points, while the boys were ninth.

Hoffman took first in the 800m run and Saxton was again first in the 200m dash. Christine Frandsen took first in the 3200m run.

This week, the teams competed in the conference meet at Hinckley Tuesday and get set to host the subsection meet Wednesday, May 26.
