The North Branch boys golf team ended its regular season this week with a match Monday against Chisago Lakes. Last week, the squad fell to Milaca in a dual meet and was fourth at a Rum River Conference meet May 18.
The conference totals gave the Vikings a tie for fourth place in the conference going into Mondayís match against the undefeated Wildcats. Results from the meet were not yet available.
Against Milaca, Tyler Leland led the Vikes with a 39 and Tom Koep turned in a 40. Tony Beaver followed with a 42 and Brad Peters scored a 45. The team total of 166 was defeated by Milacaís 155.
In the last conference meet of the year, Beaver had a 37 in the first round to lead the Vikes, while Leland and Greg Moriarty led the Vikings in the second round with rounds of 42.
The teamís score of 338 tied them for third with St. Michael-Albertville. Third place was awarded to STMA based on the sixth scores on each team.
This week, North Branch travels to Hinckley for the section meet today, May 26. Finals will be at Hinckley Monday, May 31.
