To the editor:
Two weeks ago people in Wyoming Township held a rally in Moberg Park in Chisago City. The rally was in protest of the hostile annexation of parts of the township. Even though Chisago City council calls it a voluntary or orderly annexation, forcing property owners and farmers into city limits is hostile and unethical. It will also be very costly to the taxpayers of Chisago City.
Unlike Chisago City, Wyoming Townshipís elected officials are keeping their residents informed and doing this in public, not one-on-one. The residents have already held one meeting and many more will occur. On Friday, May 28, another rally will be held in Chisago City at Moberg Park (on Hwy. 8 and Old Town Road) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This one is held not only by residents of Wyoming Township, but by Chisago City residents as well. Bring a grill and have a BBQ.
Find out what this annexation really means to all of us. And learn how it can be stopped.
Finally, many of you business owners in Chisago City know how this council operates. You know that property taxes and school levies will increase. You also know that crime will also increase, considering that this council wants to increase our population to over 30,000 by 2020.
Please support us in the fight against annexation. You will soon receive information on how to help us. Chisago City residents are encouraged to come to this rally and learn the truth.
