To the editor:
Vennelag 546, Sons of Norway, had another great Heritage Fest. We send thanks to all our friends who joined us for the evening of fun and food. We hope that you all had as good a time enjoying the Heritage Fest as we had putting it on.
We thank all our members who contributed Norwegian delicacies for the Sm¯rgasbord table. There was a great variety of many tasty Norwegian foods. You would find a collection like that no where else, but possibly in Norway.
We thank Florien Chmilewske and Lorren Lindevig for playing their lively music for dancing or just plain listening. Florienís daughter, Patty, added a special highlight to the musical program with her singing.
We thank the exhibitors who showed the their arts of rosemaling and wood carving. We thank the lefse making demonstrators. We thank all the contributors to our silent auction.
We thank Jim Olson, International President of Sons of Norway, and his wife for attending our festivities.
We thank the local newspapers who are so gracious in printing the notices about the Heritage Fest, plus the other activities of Vennelag.
And so we say in Norwegian, ìTusen takk to alle!î
Next year weíll do it all again. The date will be Syttende Mai, the 17th of May 2005. We hope to see you then.
