Our beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, Christopher Allen Salminen of North Branch, passed away accidentally on April 28, 2004.
Chris was born Jan. 31, 1967 to Mary and Verdie Salminen in Minneapolis, Minn. His family moved to North Branch in June of 1975.
Chris attended school in North Branch. Chris was self-employed for the last 22 years. Chris enjoyed buying and selling cars, mechanics, collecting rare coins and antiques.
He was deeply loved by his father and mother, Verdie and Mary Salminen. Deeply loved by his three daughters: Jessica, Allecia and Alexis. He was loved by brother Wade and wife Althea of North Branch and their children, beloved nieces Maxine, Erin and Heather and nephew Terrance; beloved brother Virgil Salminen of Menahga and nephew Austin Young of Taylors Falls, Minn.; beloved sister Melissa and her husband Chris Hallberg of Coon Rapids, Minn; beloved sister Cynthia Salminen of North Branch, great nephew Tristan, Devin and great-grandniece Monika of North Branch. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Christopher was preceded in death by grandfather Grant Pohl, and grandmother Olga Barrik, grandparents Evan and Otto Salminen, and great-grandparents John and Kathryn Pohl.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 1, at the Abundant Life Church in North Branch with Rev. Kevin Haseltine officiating. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
Chris, we will be sad and lost in years ahead without you. You will be in our hearts forever. You were the light of our lives and made us laugh and your unhappy times made us sad, but we were by your side through all your unhappy and good times. God gave our family the precious days together as a family before you left us. You will be sadly missed by all your friends and the ones who loved you.
