Warner Leo Olson, age 72, of North Branch, Minn., died on May 1, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Warner was born on Nov. 18, 1931 in Grand Marais, Minn. to Ernest and Catherine (Scott) Olson. On Nov. 22, 1952 he married Janet Angeline Jerick at Camp Roberts in California.
Warner worked for 34 years as an engineer with US West. He proudly served in the Korean War.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
For the last ten years he enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Warner is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Warner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet; three sons: Scott (Kathy), Terry (Michelle), Chris (JoAnne); one daughter Debbie (Roger) Foster; seven grandchildren: Nick, Kelly, Heidi, Adam, Alec, Brandon, Claire; one great-grandchild, Aubrey, many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory the Great in North Branch, Minn. Visitation is one hour before services. A private family interment will be held in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
