The Womenís Environmental Institute at Amador Hill will hold its grand opening Saturday, May 8 beginning at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to visit the new home of WEI, tour the institute, and help plan the future projects and programming for WEI. The day also offers workshops, focus groups, organic picnic food, live music and dancing, childrenís activities and guided hikes, ongoing environmental videos, and the orchard in glorious bloom. Bring a blanket for your picnic.
1:30 p.m.: Workshops and ongoing focus groups
2:30 p.m.: Special Welcome to ANGA RORY, a visiting dance troupe of eight young dancers from Paraguay
3:30 p.m.: Lisa Kane on guitar (social activist guitarist, songwriter, and singer, originally from North Branch)
The day will conclude with a womenís scarf dance through the orchard led by Jacquelyn N. Zita, the ìApple Lady.î
