To the editor:
The school district in North Branch keeps asking for more money. It would be a fantastic idea if the money were to actually reach the kids.
The administrative level of our schools will dip their hands into the pie long before it ends up in the intended place. OUR KIDS.
Why do the superintendents, principals and vice principals receive their raises first?
I asked a member of your school board this question. Her answer was we need to pay them the money and perks they are getting so we will have good people in those positions.
They are not the people needing the money. They get a ridiculous amount of money for the jobs they perform. In the business world, you would go out of business with these practices.
The money needs to reach the teachers, materialsİand or equipment needed. Not a greedy superintendent or staff who do not live within their means.
Why do we need fancy schools with unrealistic architecture. Use the money wisely.
Kids will not learn any more with fancy offices, classrooms, unwise use of space.
Buy computers that are already maxed out in memory. Will cost more initially but they will last and run better, much longer.
Paper and supplies should be bid for by outside vendors to get the best prices.
Run your schools like a business and you will be surprised at the money you are wasting.
Get rid of all your perks for superintendents and any staff of any kind.
They will not find these perks in the real world everyone else lives in.
If all school districts would compare to the business world we could afford to run our schools.
More money put into a broken system will not make our kids any smarter.
Good teachers will be the only way to make our kids brighter in school.
Like all government ... use our money wisely and you could do twice the amount of work with half the people.
