Incumbent Republican Rep. Pete Nelson of District 17B is back for another term.

He defeated Jeremy Kalin, DFL, by a vote of 12701 (52.41 percent) to 10711 (44.20 percent). P.J. Richardson, Independence Party, garnered 794 votes (3.28 percent).
