The October meeting of Sons of Norway, Vennelag 546 is on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center in Lindstrom. It will be One Room Schoolhouse Night. So, dress accordingly!
At the business meeting there will be a vote on a minor change in Vennelags by-laws. Then the slate of candidates for Vennelag offices will be presented and voted on to elect officers for the year 2005.
After the short business meeting, well all become school kids again! The golden days of summer are dwindling rapidly down. Frost is on the pumpkin. The soon-to-be-scholars are choosing their back to school outfits, notebooks and other supplies. There is an air of excitement as they wait for opening day.
Vennelag School District #546 opens for classes at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. Grades one through eight will all gather at the one-room schoolhouse. They will all be dressed in jeans, bonnets, etc., ready for learning lots of new things!
Bring along a basket, lunch pail, or box lunch (sandwich, fruit, and cookie) the schoolteachers will furnish beverages.
